Negaunee Tree Lighting 2021

Another year has sped past, and we are at the point where we can shiver our way through Christmas carols while our hearts are warmed by the fantastic crowd in Negaunee. The Lighting Up the Holidays event out on by the Negaunee Downtown Development Authority was a huge success despite a foot and more of snow dumped on the Upper Peninsula through the early hours of the day.

Tom Polkinghorne led the band in popular carols.

The Public Works Department did a wonderful job clearing the roads and the area all around downtown so that people could come and enjoy the holidays spirit.

The Negaunee Male Chorus also sang for the residents, and the park was lit by an enthusiastic Santa Claus.

Another wonderful event was a huge success. Here’s to another year of band concerts at the shell and parades on the street. A very happy holiday to you and yours, and we look forward to seeing you at Breitung Park again in 2022!

The band plays Jolly Old St.Nicholas for the large crowd at the park.
